At Ives Insurance we make a strong commitment to support our community both through financial contributions and personal, hands-on participation; from hosting charitable fundraising events to coaching and mentoring kids; supporting seniors programs and partnering with business and community organizations across Essex County. We call it "Ives Helping Hands!"

 

Here's how we help:

 

May 31, 2009 - 7th Annual HandiCapable Fishing Derby.  Ives Insurance Brokers is excited to once again be the official sponsor of the Italian Canadian HandiCapable Association's Pat Pagano & Essex County Bass Anglers Annual Fishing Derby for 2009. Scheduled for Sunday, May 31, 2009 Assumption Park (Detroit River) ICHA members will spend the day learning how to fish and enjoying the summer weather.  Please see attached for more details.

 

Kids Fore Golf, The Golf Association of Ontario and Callaway Golf and have partnered to develop the first introductory golf program designed for elementary schools. This new program uses the game of golf as a vehicle to promote active-living and healthy lifestyle choices. Ives Insurance Brokers Ltd. is proud to be a sponsor of this program in local schools. We are happy to promote this program that is designed to give ALL children an opportunity to experience and learn a game that helps build character and promote life-long activity. Showing schools and students how much fun golf can be with Ontario PGA Professionals taking the kids through basic exercises, full swing and putting with fun equipment designed for kids. December 8, 2008 - Ives Insurance Brokers Ltd. supports the Salvation Army's Annual Christmas Present Appeal. Throughout the year staff hosted several in house events raising over $500. Ives Management made a matching contribution to bring the total to $1,000. Requested items were purchased along with many other gifts for children and teens and were distributed by the Salvation Army in our local communities for Christmas morning. It is our way of giving a helping hand, keeping the spirit of Christmas alive and making a difference in our community.

 

The staff at Ives Insurance Essex office pulled together and entered a float in the Annual Santa Claus Parade in downtown Essex.

 

The staff wanted to participate in this manner as they believed it would help the community get into the Christmas spirit, and be a good pick-me-up for all - especially in these tough economic times.

Ives staff walked along side of the float, handing out treats to children who lined the parade route.

 

Mixed in with marching bands, wailing sirens, unicyclists, and cheering spectators, were Ives staff members and their families. It was a great day for all, and the best part - the expressions on the faces of the children!

 

With a 3rd place finish in the judging of the parade entries, staff are already brainstorming ideas for next years' float. View photos

 

 

Staff from the Ives Insurance Brokers Ltd. Essex office participated once again this year in the Tiny Tot parade handing out yummy treats to hundreds of local kids to celebrate Halloween. This event was sponsored by the Essex BIA. A fun time was had by all and we are looking forward to participating again next year. View photos


October 24, 2008 - Halloween Party in Support of the Canadian Cancer Society A Success

As a big supporter of many local and national charities, two Ives staff members, Andrea Raffoul and Christy Smith, came up with the great idea of a Halloween party to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society. This event was held on Friday, October 24, 2008 at the Essex Legion.

Many of us have been personally affected by cancer and the Canadian Cancer Society does a remarkable amount of research into fighting this disease. Recently one of our staff underwent cancer treatment, and this charity has really hit home here at Ives. Our staff pulled together creating a haunting evening which was a lot of fun and we raised $2,200.00 to help out this very worthwhile charity.

Our motto, "Ives Helping Hands" was truly demonstrated by the spirit of the event. With the generous support of insurance companies, clients and local businesses, we were able to make this a success and in the long run help many families and individuals fight this horrible disease and have a brighter future. We are hoping to make this an Annual Event!

June 18, 2008 - Ives Insurance Brokers and Woodslee Credit Union co-hosted their 6^th Annual Charity Golf Tournament in support of the W.E. Care For Kids Foundation at Erie Shores Golf Club in Kingsville. The event helped to raise over $25,000 toward building a new $1 million Paediatric Day Surgery O.R. Suite. View photos

July 3, 2007 - Ives staff held a Pasta Dinner Fundraiser in support of Leamington District Memorial Hospital's new Dialysis Unit. The event raised just over $3,500 PLUS an Ives Insurance donation of $1,500, bringing the total donation to $5,000! View photos

 

Christmas 2007 - Ives Insurance Brokers supports the Salvation Army's annual Christmas Present Appeal. Various events were hosted at each office to raise money to purchase gifts for children, teens and the elderly, and were distributed in the local community.

October 5, 2007 - Ives staff participated in the National Dress Down Day to kick-off Breast Cancer Awareness month. A $5.00 donation to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada allowed employees to "dress down" for the day.
